Light bulb woes...

Any of you guys know the size/type of bulb that goes into the dome light at the tailgate? I ordered some 31mm Festoon LEDs for the interior lights in the 95. Fit everywhere but the rear dome. I'm guessing it's a 33-35mm, but can't find an exact match. The #s on the old bulb aren't very helpful...

31 will work, thats what i have. If i remember correct actual size is like 29

i like that...tried it, went to Rock Auto, O'Reilley, etc, all said the same. 3175 is too short to go into that clip. The bulb I took out was longer than the bulbs I took out of the dome, maplight, etc. Hence the reason why I came here.

I have a bunch of 3175 (31mm) bulbs. All are too short and I can't bend the clips in enough to get one to stay in.

They fit in the main dome, map lights, but not in the rear dome (too short)

I say measure it or make it work, Jam the metal connectors to make the bulb fit. Its hack job but its what I did when I added a rear dome bulb in mine that was too big.

Finally found a ruler. It's 36mm long. the other bulbs (3175) are 31mm long. The 6418 bulb is the right one for my tailgate (rear) dome.

You solved it a little too quick for me. I had the same problem, but I can't remember the number of the bulb...until I get home from work. Good job figuring it out. Trying to make it work by bending the metal tabs isn't the best way, especially in an old light socket.
