Light Mount Location

Saving up for a front bumper, but for the time being I want to get my lights mounted to my runner. I have two locations I think would look best. I did a little peeping around the bumper to see if this was even possible and I think it is. Let me know your opinion on which you like best and if you've had any experience doing so. Thanks

I think in the upper grill would look better. I was looking at a few people that did the satoshi mod and they just cut into the mesh and mounted their lights there. If you do mount them in the upper grill, would you be keeping the stock center chrome piece or change the entire portion to mesh?

I've seen the satoshi mod and i think it looks really great! But with the "TOYOTA" emblem in the center, i would think that the lights would cover them. So i would most likely leave the stock chrome grille, but paint it black.

That would certainly let the light get out there. I like the look of lights on the bumper, but with my upcoming projector upgrade I'm not sure they'll be needed. Yours would look sweet with some lights set back into the grille, like the satoshi guys do, looks pretty trick.

Yea, but then that gives you an excuse to get some low profile LED's haha. It is probably better to leave the stock horizontal bar and it will have more support than a mesh insert.

I'm happy with my choice. I actually went through the bumper, but need to add some better bracing to the bottom side to keep them more stable on rougher roads. I couldn't ask for better light output from them though.

Wow, seeing them on a car like that, makes me lean more towards mounting them to the top of the bumper. Do you have a write up on this?

sorry no write up on that install. If your not in a hurry I plan to add some braces to them before x-mas and can try to snap some pics then.
