I am sure there have been many posts about this but quite frankly am too lazy to search

Am looking to change the lights:

1. On my fog lights. Would like to have these daytimes white and not yellow.

2. The running board lights to an ultra white light. Don't really like the hazy yellowish color.

3. Anything else?????

Has anyone done these changes? Are they difficult?

1. The fog lights are 9006, you can switch them SilverStars or the likes for a whiter Halogen bulb or get HIDs. You didn't say what year is your 4Runner. If it's the daytime running lights, it's a bulb. I don't have DRLs on mine, but some have said the DRLs uses a different bulb (dual filament) than non-DRL (single).

It's an easy swap especially if you're doing bulbs. If you're swapping the fogs with HIDs, then you have mount the ballasts and possible run the relay and wiring harness (depending on what kit and who's the vendor). Fogs, lie on your back under the bumper and reach up. Unclip the wire harness from the bulb, twist and pull the bulb out. Do not touch the bulb glass on Halogens or HIDs. The oils from your skin can create hotspots and premature bulb failure.

Running boards, easier if you lie on your back you can reach up into the small cavity of the end caps, twist and pull out the wiring socket. The bulb plugs straight into the socket.

You should have two lights on each side of the truck -- the daytime running lights are yellow and the fog lights are white.

I think the 2003-05 4Runners, the DRLs are down low by the fog lights.

On the 2006+, the DRLs up at the top near the headlights.

Little FYI, Superbrightleds.com, the vendor I got my LEDs from do not recommend, nor warranty LEDs used headlight housings due to heat.
