Lights!!!

looking for a aftermarket light, such as a kc or piaa. i would be hooking them up to a brush guard. what type of beam is best for off roading? just as long beam. or short beam. i have a 4th gen. and on the left there is the center diff button. has anyone turned one of the extra "button" in to a on off switch for the lights? or where is the best place to mount the switch?

i am either going with the piaa 520 atp or the piaa 520 series. they are a little different. i think i am going to go with fog lights. not there driving lights. what do you guys think?

Out of the two choices (KC or PIAA) i would go with PIAA 520 ATP. Good spread and distance. plus, they are really bright.

Back in 04 I stuck some Light Force lights on my front bumper. I have not had a single problem. You can adjust the beam from wide to pin point like a Maglight.

I don't have aux lights yet. When I get around to it, I think I'm going to have at least 8 :D. 2 fogs mounted in the grill, 2 floods and 2 spots on the bumper or on a light rack over the cab (I'd prefer the bumper, we'll see if I have room), and 1 or 2 HF cheapies pointed out the back. I might stick them on the corners of my roof rack, so I can point to them out to the side if I want.

Sorry I missed this question. You can use FJ light switches like a few of us have used:

This is what i'm currently running and I'm pretty happy with them.

I like your thinking...you could never have too much light:

I'm running both the 540 fogs and ATP's and love them both. Also just got a regular fog switch to mount in the dash.

Nice stuff guys.
I have a set of $13 tractor lights on the side of the frame. Last set lasted 3.5years. Not super bright but does throw enuff light to help out. I use em all the time.

You can rotate em all around depending on your needs - front, side, straight down. Bolt right up to a hole that was already in the frame. If you look close you can see the open sqare hole that I use to hold the nut when I bolt em down.
