Limted Slip Differentials with Traction Control vs. E Lockers

i see your experience, and raise you some more ignorance on my part....

what is the downside of having a "lunch box locker" on the front wheels on a IFS 4runner still spining the hub? it's disengaged (if working properly) from the other wheel & drive line, so aside from turning the weight of the gear (whichever your outside wheel is on a given corner) i don't see what it will hurt...???

someone connect the dots for me please.....

It is the fact that when you engage your 4wd (anytime you do) you will be locked front and rear and there are actually a lot of times that you don't want the front locker engaged. Like on the gravel or dirt roads.

Simply it will just put a lot of added stress on the driveline when you don't need it.
