Line-X Bug Sheild?

So, I dropped my Sliders off at the Line-X shop today and while filling out the forms the owner came into the room. This place was just a warehouse so my 4R was right there and he asked what I was getting done. I told him that I was getting my sliders Line-Xed and he told me I should go silver. I informed him that I really wanted to but I couldn't afford it (they charged $200 more for a color). He said he'd do it for $75 more and so I agreed. I wanted to do this any ways so this was great news to me. However, he then said that I should do my bug sheild as well. Said its looked really good on the past jobs he's done. I've been thinking about it all day and I cant wrap my head around it. Has anyone done this? If so any pictures? What do you guys think?

Thanks!

I think the bug sheild should be left black. If you paint/coat it you're gonna start having rock chips show in it. Even it were free I'd leave it the dark smokey color.

I thought Line-x would protect a door panel from rocks etc.

how would you see chips in it if its supposed to protect things from rocks??

??

I think you are right though, black would prob look better, but I tend to like contrast and not color keying...

Yep, I hear ya. It is supposed to protect and it does. It's better at handling rock chips than bare paint but it's no match for those flying rocks and pebbles. I think the Line-X on the rockers is a good idea.

The more I think about it, IMHO putting Line-X on the bug shield would look kinda cheesey.

If your seriously considering it, and you still want the girls to think your rig is hot, hot, hot ( :naughty: ) then you should mock it up first, before you pull the trigger.

Sounds silly, but cut and tape some construction paper or something on there. Then take about ten steps back, blur your vision, and see if you puke or smile...there will lie your answer.
