Line-X Bumpers and Fenders

When we bought our new Tundra in 2000 we had the bed done with Line-x. Now all these years later and the bed has held up very well. I've had all sorts of things thrown in there bouncing around and I don't think any of it has come off. It's a little rough on soft things and it's hard to slide some things; but a fair trade off I think.

Just checking in on this... you still happy with the Line-x and how is it holding up?
I am really thinking about doing this, but the shops near me want about $1040 to do it plus $140 and hour to remove/reinstall all the parts. Also a little worried about anyone trying to get those fenders flares off and back on correctly.

Thats a bit much if it was between this and a new front bumper id choose the bumper but it looks amazing.
As far as I know you need a heat gun to remove the fender flares and good double sided tape to put them back on. I use to sell this stuff called DSG made in Canada every professional body shop I sold it to said it was the best ever, but we cant find a good wholesaler to get it from. The box actually said, " warning for professional use only " because once you stuck it on you need a crowbar to remove it,

I should clarify that $1040 to do the front bumper/grill, the fenders and the rear bumper...

I'm a long time creeper of the site but just recently joined due to finally getting my hands on a 3rd gen T4R SR5. My question is, I see people mention all over this site that they have sr5 flares on their 'runners, but mine doesn't have them? I guess I was under the impression all sr5s came with them, do they not? Just trying to figure out if the previous owner took them off or not. And what the best bet to get some would be. Bushwackers are wayyyyyy out of my price range.

5th gen 4runners have the flares. This is the 5th gen section. I can move your post or you can just repost in the 3rd gen section.

Hey there. Just joined the forum, I came from the TundraTalk forum as I previously had a 2007 Tundra and traded it in for a 2014 4Runner. I have done my first major mod and wanted to share for those who are curious as to what Line-Xd bumpers look like on a 2014. Local Line-X place had the vehicle for 2 days and charged me $500 cash. I was going to attempt to vinyl wrap the front bumper, but with all of the curves and sharp edges, it would be a nightmare. So, Line-X was the next best thing. Color matching was an option, but at $800, I stuck with the black. I love the 2 tone and never have to worry about rock chips in the front or scratching the rear bumper getting things in and out of the back. If you have any questions, please let me know!

which shop did you go to for the line x? looking to get my flares done. any issues with flare removal and re-install?

Bumping this because I have questions...

Have a ton of stuff on my truck bed lined with duplicolor. Looks great very happy with how it looks... when it's clean.

Duplicolor bed armor I used is fairly porus and traps any bit of dust or mud. I can wash and detail my truck but within a week or two my wheels and hood get the chalky look from dust (keep in mind I live in a dusty ass desert). When it gets that chalky look it make the job look like a hack job when it actually looks fantastic clean.

I'm thinking about adding clear coat to my wheels to see how much that helps the issue.

Line X looks like it doesn't get so filthy from just driving around town and sitting. It seems to have some sheen to it which leads me to believe it may act more like paint in regards to trapping dust. What's the consensus?

I would say you are correct. I have my front and rear valences Line-Xd and they are super easy to take care of and dont really get dirty at all.

I use Duplicolor bed armor on my Jeep for the fenders and rock sliders... these get way dirtier and after a few years I find the Duplicolor starts to flake off. I've had to redo my fenders several times.

Line-X is far more durable, mine still looks like it did when I first had it done, and dirt doesn't stick to it really at all. A rinse with a hose gets off anything on it.
