Lo Beams have stopped working, Hi beams still work. Help.

I noticed last night that both Lo Beams have stopped working. Fogs and Hi beams still function as they should. I've pulled both bulbs and both appear to be intact. I've also checked the 10a fuses under the hood and they all appear to be intact as well.

Any suggestions on relays or something else to check before I have to take this thing to the stealership would be great!

Did you check the fuses with a meter or just a visual check? Fuses can be blown and still look okay

So, it’s fixed. Don’t be like me lol.

Apparently the bulbs can be blown as well and still look very much intact. They were just blown. My guess is that one went out a whole back and I didn’t notice until both had went out. Either way, it’s fixed. Thanks

I thought it was odd that both low beams were out at the same time. That's why I thought it might be a bad fuse. Glad you used the meter on the bulbs too.

Walking around your vehicle from time to time is good for checking all your lights, especially head and tail lights. In the winter I'm too lazy and cold to walk around so when I go to a store with a big glass window I back into a parking space and lets me check the back end, including the backup lights. Next trip I pull in and check the fronts. The rest you check in the summer

notice the windings on your bulb.. theyre not as "clean?" clear? sharp? I can't find the word for it. Compare your new bulb's coils to your worn bulbs coils you'll see what I mean.

Make it a routine to just check your bulbs. I'd say annually would be good unless you do a lot of night time driving. Once your bulb coils get fuzzy like that, lumens and output are diminished and could use a replacement anyway.

I know it seems wasteful but keep the old functioning ones in the 4runner and slap in some new ones. You'll never know if youre out in the middle of nowhere and your bulbs go out. At least you'll have a spare to get by.
