LOC Install in my 5th Gen

A friend gave me this LOC and I wanted to see if I could use it to install my amplifier. The instructions that I have say to wire it to a 12v source. Do I need to do this? The other question that I have is, in the instructions it does not say anything about the brown wire that is connected to the LOC. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

must hook up the positive to give the loc some power, also the brown is for ground loop. those are ok loc, if you want something better do audiocontrol, when setting gains on amp, most likely you dont need to turn up the gain as much since the loc is already sending boosted signal.

Where should i put the ground loop wire. Also does it need to be constant or ACC power?

Direction don't say if it has to be constant. But you can use acc wire to power it. Also the brown cap it off. If there is noise I change it for another one that is better.
