I have a 2012 TE with a Toytec 2" lift (springs front & rear, spacer front, Blistein shocks front) and Firestone Destination 285 size tires. My Runner was acting funny, not shifting out of 4H unless I turn left or stop (sometimes requires reverse) and pulling to the left in 4H when driving (no noticable changes in 4L), so I took to my local dealer to check out. I received a call from the service manager telling me that they feel that the problem is caused by the lift and, by the way, that my warranty is void because of the lift. I asked for details on how the lift caused the problem and he had none. He could not tell me what the problem was either. I pushed explaining that a lift alone could not cause it to behave in this manner and he said he did not know but would have the master tech call me later. The master tech called and asked some questions and said that the lift alone would not cause the problem, but that he was completely lost on what the issue may be. I told him that the alignment had just been confirmed and that nothinig other than this lift had been done. I have done some pretty heavy offroad driving, but it IS a Trail Edition. He was wondering if it had taken any hits on the wheels, which it had not. Here's the advice I am seeking, once they figure out the problem and fix it, how do I best approach the service manager if he again says that this is not covered under warranty? I have the 100k / 6 year extended warranty and am at 39k miles. I have searched the posts and read through the Magnuson-Moss Act posts and also read opinions from both sides. I am looking for advice from others who have ryun into this issue and successfully (or unsuccessfully) pushed back against the dealership. What are the next steps of who to ask to speak to for the best results?
