Local TRD S/C, need to know what parts I will need to install to my SR5

A local junk yard has a trd supercharged 4runner and he wants me to get a list together of the parts I would need from him,

ive looked around but all I find is the list that has the SC itself a bunch of hardware and stickers, etc

what the parts I absolutelly need from it?

SC and throttle body, do I need the ecu from it? etc etc?
Hoping someone that knows their stuff can chime in as he said 600 for the supercharger itself with 95k on it. my truck has 98k so its perfect.

save the hardware when you take it off and get the belt just so you know kind to get new. Other then that I think thats it.

All the bolts that hold it on, the belt, the brackets that hold stuff to it (the throttle cable brackets and vacuum hose brackets and such), The tensioner and all it's bolts (theres 2 types, pics below)

So only the supercharge with throttle body and all brackets and bolts, tensioner? there is no like boost wastegate or relieve valve? ecu? anything for the fuel etc???

Wastegate is attached to the supercharger
Ecu is the same and so is the fuel unless the po of the junked 4runner had the 7th injector

Go and take pics and post em... Incase po had 7th kit and someone could just circle the stuff for you.

And yes you will need "stickers" they add hp

lol at stickers, you already KNOW I will make sure I get them for all the extra PSI increase haha.

They are closed today I will call tom and see if they still have it, wow so if it all goes to plan I will be paying more for the 7th injector kit then the kit itself lol

Anyway I am not expecting a beast, I just want more then enough power for offroading etc.

you can only really get the tensioner and a few extra bolts. the tb is stock, its only the tb gasket that is different so no need for the tb itself even. theres plenty of vacuum lines you will need, but might want to just do new ones if its in a jy right now, but hey.

also make sure to get the trd boost gauge from the inside of the truck!!!



and yes, you WILL be spending a LOT more to get the thing running right than the blower itself costs. plan on the 7th injector kit, maybe add the split second ecu from URD, and you might want a wideband sensor and some more guages as well. also if you have an auto make sure to add a transmission cooler. and of course you will want to upgrade your intake and exhaust/headers ideally as well. plan on at least another $2k, if not 3, and that MIGHT get you to 300hp. :tongue:

its far from one of better engines to boost on the planet, the amount of $$$ to hp is pretty sad in comparison to a lot of things, but hey , it is what it is.

Buying into a 3rd Gen s/c 4Runner mod, you are improving the performance on an 4#+ SUV. You may feel disappointed if your expectations are a HP street rod. Having said that, there is vastly noticeable performance difference from a stock 3.4L to a S/C 3.4L. It's night and day and one you will not regret with the acception of the S it take get there. At times it can be a PIA to get dailed in and in some cases its an on going pursit. The 2-4K total $ commitment is nesscary to make it run right and safely.

BTW....I've owned both 1 & 2 Gen S/C, there is no difference in performance or function. The differences lies in the casting, which in the 2nd Gen brings all the guts under on housing.
