Lock/Unlock doors from back seat?

I recently became a father, and since my 07 has become the daddy car and primary means of transportation for the family, my wife has been sitting in the back with our daughter. Often times, when errands are run, I jump out and my wife stays in the back seat, reaching forward to lock and unlock the door. She leaves the keys in the car and running with the air on since it's been pretty hot in our area lately.

Anyway, was wondering if anyone knew how to wire a switch from the lock/unlock switch on the door to the backseat so my wife doesn't always have to get up and reach over. I know how to do switch wiring, but like many of my T4R projects, I lack the electrical experience to get me started. I know there will probably have to be two points to tap-in to, one for lock, and one for unlock. And I know the door panel will have to come off...but beyond that, I am at a standstill.

I know this isn't a critical mod, and my wife obviously doesn't have a problem or mind reaching over...I was just thinking of something that might be a tad but easier for her.

How about using the

not a bad idea. I know it's not what OP was wanting to do, but this will accomplish the same thing. You don't have to do any wiring, cutting of door panels, etc...keep it stock. Just keep an extra fob in the door pocket/cupholder area, maybe fix it to a retaining string or wire, or just put some velcro on the fob and velcro it to the door in an easy spot.

Its mostly dependant on your fabbing skill in order to make it look good..Wiring-wise its super easy. Just buy replacement lock switches, follow the lock switch wire harness up frint and splice into all the wires, and run it to the new switch. Then just mount it. You could cut above the window control on the rear door panels, make a bracket, and put the switch there to look oem. My advice, though, would be to wire some sort of interrupter switch (like the window lock) to the driver door, so when you dont want the back to open without you allowing it to, it can't.
