Locker Down gun safe - 5th Gen 4runner

I purchased the locker down but didnt quite like the magnet mount for it. the magnet i had was very strong and required way to much pulling force which then would create a violent jerk when finally overcome.

I went to holster design and orignally was going to do a blackhawk serpa mount since they have screw mount design built into them but ended up finding a FOBUS holster that "SAYS" its for the Ruger LCP9s. its labeled as such, but i think they just re-itemizing their holster from their KTP.

anyways, i simply drilled out the rivets to reveal the holes on top and found i needed the following.

Bolts:

#8-32 x 1 inch long bolt (1 each)
#8-32 x 5/8 inch long bolts (2 each)

Nylon spacer -
1/4 ID x 5/8 OD x 3/8 inch long - (1 each) i used white nylon spacer.

drill bits and index card to create a template of hole pattern and some clear tape. paper hole punch to punch holes in the index card at hole locations and then marker to mark your dots on the safe box.

next i used a center punch to hammer pound a center punch hole and then start my drilling operation so not to "walk" the bit.

So I am seeing the keyed model on their site but looks like you have the combination lock.

It also looks as though you bolt it down from inside the box through the compartment to secure it in the truck. Did you use self tapper or get fancy and bolt from below somehow?

Either way, what is the "draw time" if you were to go from locked down say at an intersection to firearm in hand ready to defend?

I think this may be the solution... my friend also... has been looking for since their work place requires "double" lock security to be parked on site.

Nice work. I always have my firearm on my person in the vehicle and elsewhere and only holster it if going into the post office or other such locale.

I leave an old "Assault Systems" IWB holster I used to carry on the job in the safe if I have to lock it up temporarily.

That said, very nicely done. I really like my Lock'er Down console safe.
