Locker Switch Idea

Has anyone tried to wire in the locker dial from a 80/100 series Landcruiser into the 1"x1" slot on the left hand side of the steering wheel and connect the factory 3rd Gen locker switch to it. Would it even fit?

Another question (lack of knowledge on my part)but if use the 80's series ff/rr locker dial would it be possible to wiring in the ARB locker switch into it with the compressor switch being in the 4runner's factory switch location?

I've just been wondering this for awhile. Since I have yet to see a 4runner with it or heard about anyone doing it. I think it would be pretty cool if it was possible.

This is the spot I'm talking about

Where did you find those fog light switches that fit in the stock openings? I had one that came in an old fog light kit but I can't find anymore that fit.

(fog)there's a better looking stock switch that i used in my '99 i think those are for the 2nd gen 4runner, the other ones just look better in that location imo,

here's a pic with install instruction for the hella 500's

so whats the deal with this locker dial? isn't the factory locker a e-locker?
so it's either engaged or disengaged right? maybe it's me but i've never heard of a dial for a locker, it's a toggle either off or on sort of thing right? this is just for coolness factor? i'd like to learn more if i'm mistaken, on that, other wise i'd just not mess with it and get another 3rd gen factory lockers switch and use that for the arb as well, then all switchs look factory and to the unknowing it would apear to have come to from teh factory with front and rear lockers and 4 fog 2 fog light banks lol, but hey i'm kind of a stock nazi on things like switches and such. you got to live with it every day so do what makes you happy.

ok i see it has an option for locking just the rear or you can lock front and rear with a single switch.... ok that's kind of cool, but i'd still prefer to have them separate so you can run just the front if needed. as it looks with that setup you can only lock the front if the rear is locked.:snacker:
i like learning about new stuff lol ;-)
