From the literature, the Atrac system should make up for some of it as the wheel that is spinning should be braked by the ABS system and the wheel with traction allowed to continue. This "should" work in most situations, however there are times where a true locking rear would be nice.
Personally I would prefer to have it as an option.

My 2008 SR5 has the Locking Differential, i drove on the beach saturday and sunday without it, and the 4 runner drove great. Monday i engaged it, and talk about a difference. It was like driving on the pavement, i couldnt be happier :awais:RonMAIDEN said:A locker in the 4Runner again? I'm just hoping the next 4Runner will still have it's off road prowess if we see a next gen Runner at all.
