That car is like 15 min from me. Anyone want me to go take a look? I'd never buy a car from NYC. No on takes cares of there cars here. No room for DIY, and I wouldn't trust the people around here for workmanship at all. In all honest his 3rd gen looks better than mine in terms of battle scars. I do love driving our 3rd gen bc I don't have to worry about damaging.

I'm highly considering getting rid of my impreza, I drove my moms 4runner the other day, hit a a massive pot holes, but with the big wheels on it, it just was another bump... if that was my impreza I would have lost a tire or axle...

NYC and manattan should be its own category, or at least be considered off road driving

It really is. We've got potholes that could give Moab, Utah a run for its money. The highways could host the next Baja 1000. Remember Winter Storm Jonas when they wanted us off the roads in the city? Perfect 4Running conditions.
 
In all honesty, if that trucks frame is ok, it would make a good winter beater or off-road rig. Who care's if it gets salt all over it & no worries about trail dings.

Lastly We have dents in about the same location, I had to do a double take to make sure ours wasn't stolen Hahah.


Better than the 'independent' buses in NJ. That comes with a side of bed bugs.


Do you need winter tires or AT for that kind of snow storm? I Was smart, I Parked my car in a under ground garage on that storm, everyone else had to dig there cars out .

Never been on one of those nor do I ever want to. Haha. Never used winter or A/T tires. I'm on pavement like 350 days of the year and I have no need to sacrifice on-road manners with an A/T tire anymore than I have to by driving a 4Runner in general. H/T tires for me only. I have considered a very mild all terrain, but I'm most like going to get stock sized Michelin LTX M/Ss. Winter tires came in handy on my BMWs and Audis but 4HI works fine in my 4Runner. If I'm really stuck, then the rear locker gets me free. If the rear locker doesn't get me free, then I was being an idiot.

I had 2 sets of mild A/T's over the years & they work great in snow, on the beach, off road trails & no loss of MPG and adds a more aggressive look. Pirelli's & Bridgstone's.

I was reminded of your build the other day. Drove a Durango that was sitting on a set of the original Scorpion A/T's. They had some dry rot, but I really liked the look and how they performed. That Durango was pretty fun too(5.9L with the NP242 t-case, what a blast in some light snow). It's a shame they don't make those A/T's anymore, but I was actually considering the Scorpion ATR. I want a fancy European tire.

I still miss those tires....I paid $120 ea... They were the best tires in the rain that I ever owned.

Edit: If I could have my old dog back & those tires...LOL

I got 70,000 out of them when I went to the original Dueler Revo A/T's.

I was @ 275/70R16 with those 2.
