Lone Star Toyota Jamboree in Gilmer, TX

Wish I could go, would be nice to meet some of you guys!

I can relate, greyhound...and tengu: keep an eye out...ill wave if I see you around town, I think you and I are maybe one of a handful of TE's in Houston!

Yeah, what is it with gulf states toyota and TE's? I had been watching out for them for quite a while, then the tsunami happened and I settles for an sr5. But when I saw my trail sitting in the "used" lot for 32k, I was all over it. I figure it was nice of someone to break it in for me.

Houston lost a TE when I moved to Dallas in 2011. Bought it 10/2010 from Sterling McCall and never saw another while in Houston.

I'm so glad I'm not the only person who is constantly checking out 4Runners while driving...I think my girlfriend is getting sick of hearing me point out every fifth gen I see...

I KNOW! I looked and looked forever! Finally got sick of hearing all of the dealerships say they didn't have any and didn't plan on getting any...gave up and imported mine from Utah!
 
Second attempt as server funky today.

The ex spousal unit made it to where ordering one wasn't an option.

As for keeping my eye out for other trails, guilty, been looking for years. I've only seen 4 here. I'm still guilty of this though, when I see a gen 5 I puff up like, be impressed fore I am trail only to see that the other 4runner is a soccer mom or a neutered male that doesn't understand the majesty or greatness that they are looking at. (Nothing pompous about that)

I guess the short story of it is that I never see those worthy of the forum, will never know the capability of what they have, and don't have the nuts to get their rides dirty. My view on that is if you are going to buy it, use it.

Eggbeater, looks like it's up to you, I, and a few i'll meet at Jam to kick this open for Houston gen 5. My son has already got gen 3 going and we've done local meets and such.

I sorta hear ya. I've owned a number of a low production vehicles over the years so I generally get excited when I see a similar vehicle as mine. However, with the 4Runner it's a mass produced vehicle and you're going to see it all the time.

With that said...I pulled in the other day behind another 4Runner and he saw mine and hurriedly walked off to rejoin his group. Kinda wished he'd had said hello.

Looks like my group is heading up Thursday. I'm almost ready as it is, but still some to dos.

I'm using this trip to test some configurations for longer trips this summer. Also carrying me, the 14yo son, and the dog so almost everything has to go on the roof.
