I'll try and get a pic of my buddy's dad's Eagle wagon. Its in great shape, they used to have two of them back in the early 90's and the "good" one they had died somehow. They painted it for MT-Wallet Racing, their rally racing team, in which the "Sweagle" (license plate) competes.
Funny you mention those, they are neat vehicles. I hope the owners of them take good care of them because I don't think AMC sold too many in the first place and they are becomming increasingly rare.

A few nice examples but they still seem to scream "white trash" but I did have the (dis)pleasure of owning a 1979 AMC AMX which was gussied up to look fast replete with a 304 under the hood it managed a 13 second sprint(?) to 60.
I did get it for under a $1000 and it lasted a bit over a year til I could afford a real car and it didn't look bad parked.

I just like things like this cause it shows that stuff that are advertised as being 'new' or 'innovative' really aren't.
I.E., crossovers, headlights that follow steering (Tucker), cylinder deactivation, etc.
Having said that, I had the experience of once owning a 1984 Renault Alliance...basically a box on wheels, but it nearly got 50MPG on the highway. I also had a 1987 Renault Alliance GTA...now that little booger was fun. Not so much in a straight line (still under 10 from 0-60), but it would give a corvette/BMW hell on a curvy road. I believe MT tested its skid pad to be 0.90G...this was back in 1987!
