Well I figured I'd try and make this thread a little more useful to the forum, do a little bit more of a review between the limited and the SR5 Premium for those who are trying to decide between options. After adding 1,000 miles this week on a long road trip up through Wyoming into Grand Teton National Park and Yellow Stone and back down through Idaho, there are several noticeable differences which shouldn't be a surprise when looking at the specs on the vehicles. The good news is it's not just my opinion buy my wife's as well so I will try to post both of our reflections.
Ride comfort, it was definitely noticeable difference in suspension with the Limited being much smoother. The good news is the other occupant that was in the car with us didn't notice it all, it was only my wife and I from all the other extended trips we have taken. Ignorance would be bliss on this one, to be honest by the end of the trip I forgot all about it.
Between my wife and I, we both agree that the Soft ex material is actually more comfortable and enjoyable. Durability still seems to be great considering our 2 and half year old loves to put it through the ringer.
All the other perks that I previously mentioned really are an afterthought, i.e. the keyless entry with the smart fob. I won't deny it is handy, but it's not a deal breaker. After learning about the trick with the key to roll the rear window down any complaint I had went away.
I think I won't be adding any other update to this until we get some nasty weather, really interested to see if that torsen system makes a noticeable difference. I'm leaning towards yes. Biggest variable will be the tires, noticed a huge difference in traction on the old limited when I threw on 75/55/R20 Dynapro AT. Interesting to see how stock tires hold up.
