Long Travel Suspension 3rd gen

I see long-travel suspension setups with tacoma's of the same years, why haven't I seen any 3rd gen 4runners setup for dune jumping or desert rallying like dakar??? Am I just not looking hard enough??? I think a 300hp supercharged 4wd desert rallying long travel 3rd gen would be sick, with all the money people are investing in these rigs Im surprised as hell I don't see any projects floating around here on the forums

LT a 4WD with a high CG. I think I know why...

Yup, top heavy and the Tacoma guys can use fiberglass bedsides to keep their rear ride height down and still keep 12" or more travel (with a bedcage or cantilever setup). Whole different ballgame with the rear end on our runners. There have been a few though, notably Chaplain and Renosauce.

Because a SAS is better for rock crawling. Not to many dunes here to race on. NTM people that dune jump are usually wanting to build trucks. So its there fault, not ours. LOL.

well I live in Florida were there is neither, just mudding! with is fun once in a wile but I just stumbled upon a crazy deal for this whole set up! I just love the look of the lt set ups and the best part is that nobody around here know what the heck it is but they love it!

I guess LT is what's big on the forum this week.

Front end is a custom setup I engineered and built. 10" coilovers, uniball LCA, uniball/heimed UCA, pulling 14" of travel but should be able to pull around 16" (with 4WD). This summer my build will get active again as I triangulate the rear and probably do a cantilever.

I love the long travel setups. I would consider doing it if I lived somewhere I could better use it. All my offroading is a bunch if twisty technical mountain trails. Nothing to go flying across.

I also want to do it to a 05ish Silverado with a 500hp ish motor and with 2wd for more travel. But then again is the issue of I live in montana. And have no money to do so. Yay for being 19, college, and broke:boom:

I like a factory look, but wish there was an option to match the rear. Looks nothing like factory to me with the front of the body so much wider than the rear.
