Hey everyone,
Just purchased an 08 Sr5 4.0 with 9,700 miles. Dad traded it in last Sat. afternoon and I went and repurchased it at 8:30 Mon. morning. Guess I don't need a carfax. Lol

2008 with only 9,700 miles? Did some one forget to drive it for about 3.5 years or did you mean 97,000? Congrats anyway. Post some pics.

so how much did he trade it for and how much did you buy it for? dealers are in business to make money why didnt you just buy it from your dad??

But like other members, I have the same curiosity. So your dad was probably underpaid for his trade, and then you went and probably overpaid. If you guys would have took out the middle-man, I imagine a huge chunk of cash would be in both you and your dad's pocket!
 
Thanks guys, It's such a sweet truck, I can't believe I have it now.
Both parents are retired and it was purchased for my mother. She loves it so much that she didn't want to drive it and have something happen to it. She also has an S10 blazer to drive. So, in 3.5 years it took about 6 1.5 hour long trips and several grocery runs. It's got 9,700 origional miles.
Wish I knew he was going to trade it. I saw it leave and didn't think anything about it. Got a suprise when he got home. Now she has a 6cyl. Rav to drive. Something a little easier to maneuver around town. They gave him $23k for it and then I gave $25k for it. How did I do? Lol
 
I had all weekend to think about it and check kelly, Nada and such. The regular retail around here is around $28k. 4x4s don't stay on lots long here and usually command a premium price. I'm happy with the deal. The interest rate is 5.09% and $299 a month. $30 bucks more a month than I paid for the 05 exploder I traded. It's a nice truck but, nowhere near that 4runner.
 
Yep yep, $750 in taxes. I guess I could have danced with them a bit more but, I didn't want anyone else to get a chance at it. I went in at 8:30 Monday and was done and going to lunch and then work and 11:30.
 
Don't look back... You got a decent price for that truck and it will owe you nothing if you care for it and keep it as long as it lasts.

I thought I did well to get my '08 with just over 20K miles; seemed like I bought a brand new vehicle and I paid the same as you did.

I believe I have 15 years worth of transportation now.
I'm a firm believer in oil changes every 3 - 4k with trans. and transfer case service every 30k.
 
The big thing for me was the Ford I had. It only had 57k on it and I started to hear bad things about them online.Trans, trans and did I mention Trans? There were also three or four other things that probably would have went bad eventually. Im sooo glad to be out of it before something happened and to have had a small fortune in it. It didnt even last two weeks on the lot. I hope it gives its new owner good luck. It was well taken care of while I had it.

Congrats on the truck, it is awesome truck. Quick question why the interest rate is 5.09? Isn't all certified Toyota's have 2.9% or yours was not certified?
