Something similar happened to me recently. Some jerk in a teal Saturn rubbed against my front bumper while trying (and failing) to parallel park in front of my truck while it was parked on the street in front of my office.

Luckily, another guy saw the whole thing and said the parking idiot had to have known what he did. He wrote down the jerk's license plate number and left me a note. The police were able to track down the guy, whose insurance company just shelled out about $600 for repairs and a rental car.

I got lucky. I think it really shows that there are real jerks out there who won't take responsibility for anything they do. And then there are people out there who get angry with that but take appropriate steps to make sure they don't get away with it. I would like to count myself in the latter group.

I did that once, in Canada. The people came back to their car as I was placing the note and they thought I was the one that had it them!

The funny part was that their car was a POS, so they didn't even care.

Never drive into NYC, you can watch cars bump other cars all day, usually old POS that try to fit a 10 year old buick into a spot a jetta just came out of, I was watching a Tauras Wagon, again a POS hit a brand new RX300 and a Range Rover both with temp tags, but they had front and rear bumper guards, still a scary sight watching a park park and the stuff on the rear view mirror is swinging :arrow:
