Looking at a 2004 V8 Limited

Well I have been researching SUVs for the past year or so and have decided on a 4Runner. While I was waiting for an '05 V8 Limited w/NAV to come in, I happened to drive by my local Lexus dealer today. They have an '04 V8 Limited 4WD w/NAV on the lot in my choice of color : Titanium Silver. It looks to be in excellent shape with 16,000 miles on it. I ran a CarFax report on it and it came up clean (only one owner, titled in 12/03). Not sure if it has the X-REAS and air suspension on it, although it is my understanding that most Limited V8 models with the NAV system usually have them included as part of the package. (I have driven and compared and I want the X-REAS!).

Anyhow, they are asking $34,450 for it. I ran the Kelley Blue Book and came up with $34,070.

If it is still on the lot later this week I am going to check it out. What do you guys think is a fair price if I should decide on it?

Thanks in advance.

I got just one for 32,000. Try and negitiate a better deal they ought to be dying to get rid of them by now. Remember the car is already a year old so in essence your buying a used car and can use that to your advantage. Good luck man!

Dengsxr... it is a used car, not a leftover 2004.

Are you saying you bought a new 2004 with all those same specs for $32,000?

I think the price is way high for a secondhand 2004 which is already a year old.

You can almost get a new 2005 for a few 1000 more, and the 2005 has more power, etc, etc.

A new 05 LTD V8 4wd, wih Nav, side airbags, XREAS, sunroof, rear ai suspension, spoiler, is little over 39k invoice (prices has gone up), so with little haggling you can get it for invoice maybe better compared to the 04 secondhand for 34,500. hmmm

I think they need to take a serious look at their price. Or else just get a new one and haggle them down.

I just bought a loaded 05 V8 Limited for $39,600. They had an new 04, with the same options, on the show room with a big sign taking $6000 off.

Thanks for the input guys. Koz, is the 6k off MSRP or off the $39,600 you got the '05 for?

I am going to test drive the Runner today. From what I am hearing maybe I'll see if they can do 29 - 31 if I should decide to go for it. Sound reasonable to you guys?

I also have internet quote requests in for an '05 Limited. Unlike other Toyotas, they really nail you for the Limited models. They have a V8 sport edtion at the Toyota dealer with MSRP of approx. $35.5 while invoice is about $31.5.

I love shopping for them but hate buying vehicles! Taking the day off and convinced the wife to do so as well. We are in the market for a new car for her as well and it's like pulling teeth to get her out looking. I want her to look at the new Avalon. She is used to to a minivan with a higher step-in height and visibility so we may also test drive an RX for her.

Sounds identical to mine but I think mine had more options with a 44k or more MSRP sticker on it. Mine had remote start and lojack also but I have the sticker for it so I can double-check if you need me to. I know it has the XREAS, rear spoiler, factory bumper guard.

I went in to buy look at a new one, test drove it and then saw this one fully decked. As much as I wish I had a brand new one it was in mint condition with every possible option so I won't get bored. I got mine for 32k and haven't looked back since. These V8s are supposed to be bulletproof too. Make sure it is Certified (probably is) and definitely check EVERYTHING over on it.

Good luck but get them down more.

Knowing the way dealers are I would think the $6000 was off the MSRP price, but I would think that you could haggle a little more.

CuzzinOlaf,
$32K for a $44K 4Runner is the best deal I've ever heard of!

Remember it was used (dealership owner's daugher) and not brand new.

Mine doesn't have the NAV system in it and I do not believe it has the rear air suspension. But everything else it has and its titanium silver.
