Looking for a quarter panel ....

So my passenger quarter panel is all rusted :bash:

I need to change it.

I know about toyotafiberglass.com, contacted the guy and shipping is :awais:

I called Caquest, Napa, Cross Canada and they don't have crap.

Any advice ?

You're looking for something big and heavy, for something old, and not too popular... You're going to be looking to specialty shops, and will be paying through the nose for shipping.

For what you want, your going to pay, or it's not going to happen...

I checked them too but I'm not sure about the quality of a "jobber" panel ... especially when it comes in 3 pieces

What do you have personal experience with it if not where do you lay your claim for knowledge. I myself do not need to replace panels since my truck spent 16 years in the desert...

yes I do have personal experiance . I USE to be the Western Canadain Distributor . tried it myself and sold it for only 1 month .. and then dropped it . no way I could or would sell it to people anymore . it's all made on a brake press ..

the owners exact words to me " most people who buy it , still have it sitting in there garage "

I'm guessing stories of installation will be difficult to find for several reasons. One, the prices are about the same as fiber glass replacement panels. Two, if you're looking at the amount of work involved, getting one of those metal panels installed would involve welding them together, then welding to the frame; fiber glass just involves cutting old stuff out and gluing the new panel on. Three, anyone with the capability to cut and weld metal is likely to just cut out the rusty spots and weld in new metal for probably 1/4 or less of the cost of buying the whole panel in three pieces, welding it together, and putting it in place of the old panel.
