It's made by Rocktek (or maybe Roktek?), I wanna say I saw a post by toy2g the other day that said they weren't making em any more.

that's why I couldn't find em' on their web page... darn well back to Shockworks

I live the idea of how light (lbs) this one was; coupled with the added protection and look with the HID lights...

anyone know what front bumper options are the lightest? I may need some folks with bumpers to chirp in here!

I don't think light is better or bigger is better but I loved the look of this one on his black 4runner, I think the shockworks are the best built and ARB are pretty good but something puts me off about them... maybe just the overall look on my 4runner.

Thanks 4runners buds/:first:

Why don't you have one yet Gaterose? Still planning/ budgeting or are you just too proud of that satoshi gill? HAHAHA

Seriously though I think your truck is clean but it will look complete with some padding up front. :)

also this:
:llama::deadhorse: ???? AHAHAH

Haha I just can't justify one yet. I'll get one someday but I have to figure how much time I'm gonna be on the road before I put more weight on here.

Thanks a lot though!

Also, DeMello has started making Aluminum bumpers for FJCs, I believe 4Runners are next in line. That would probably be the lightest bumper available (other than custom like the roktek & fabwright)

There is also aluminess, but they look really bulky.

thanks for the heads up. I maybe contacting them to see when/if those could be coming out!

I don't know a lot about aluminum vs. steel but it sounds like an upgrade!

That actually looks very similar to the bumper I had on my 3rd gen 4runner:

That one was made by Scott at Addicted Off Road up in Greeley. I don't know if he's started to make 4th gen stuff yet, but I was very impressed with my bumper. And yes, it was light, only 18lbs more than the components it replaced.

Martinjmpr: thanks for the post, I live pretty close if I can get him interested in making some... maybe i can run over to "silver mine subs" for lunch HAHAH they are the best subs i have ever had!!! and they are 1 1/2hrs. away :(

Just checked the aluminess.... WOW those are some horrible looking 4runners now!!! HAHAHAHAH

its bad... do u think we should tell them? :jaw:

and don't get me started on the rear bumper configuration they offer...

yes, we should.

I don't think the rear is THAT bad but the front is way too bulky, it wouldn't be hard to make a few changes to make it nice, just lose a little material in a few spots.

Always the optimist huh Matt? LOL

I will send them some feed back...I mean not everyone goes out of their way to design stuff for our platform, so it seems like a (+) when we can return the favor or if they start making a product we want to have.

I agree that the rear (swing arm) is not the worst especially functionally and I am curious to see what the "tool box option" is about.
I know someone made their own swing arm style but thats lots of work if you just want a swing away, this could be a starting point for some.

:peace:
