My son drives a 2004 4Runner 4.7 Sport. he is living in Westminster CO and all his dash warning lights came on today with a warning "buzzer". The CEL is not on. all indication points to brake issues, pump? i live in Omaha NE and he is there to play hockey. sucks when i can't be there to help him. just reaching out to this community to ask for reputable shops in that area that will be able help him/me. or if anyone here that has experience to help as well. thanks again.

Does the 4Runner start and run OK? Bakes feel normal and stop OK? If so have him take the 4Runner to an autoparts store to have them run the codes for free. My dash looked like a Christmas tree over a bad gas cap- hopefully its a cheap and easy repair!

it starts and runs ok. i had him take it to Firestone since it is only a mile from him. they charged $90 to tell him to take it to a dealership and have a certified Toyota technician look at it. they are saying it is the Hydro booster?
the codes are
C1223
C1252

the lights and warning buzzer all were off when he drove home from Firestone. now the TRAC abd VSC light are back on, solid, not flashing.

It could also be a simple brake switch as mentioned in the following post.
VSC on/off, VSC Trac, Traction Control AND ABS Lights on.

Please don't have him drive it. I've read somewhere that the buzzer is a warning to stop driving it. He will loose his brake at some point.

thank you for pointing me in the right direction on this.

I own a 3rd Gen and a 5th Gen and do all work on them myself. I prefer used genuine oem parts over new aftermarket ones, my personal preference. Here is a link to a writeup for a 4th Gen brake booster replacement.

Broomfield

I'm in Broomfield, but it sounds like you have the issue most likely diagnosed. I use Toycrawlers here in Broomfield, but they are pretty popular shop so they might not have time to work on it. The owner is from Boulder Toyota so he knows his stuff.
