Looking for lighting ideas on a 3rd Gen

Got my bulbs, found a video on the job, got them done, they work, haven't seen them at night yet though.

But nothing exploded, started on fire, or caused any other manner of conflagration, so yay for that! :cheer2:

Still waiting on the wire harness, but that does appear to be a bit of a crap show to get done, as I looked at it at least.

Hopefully, they will work well for a week or so till I get time to mess around with it.

Thanks again, and yes, I thoroughly cleaned the bulbs with alcohol and used gloves during installation.

Alright, so I took it for a drive last night, definitely a solid improvement.

It may, however, have pointed out a different issue.

Not really Toyota related, but maybe someone has more experience in this than I (quite likely)...

I have shadowy darkish spots within the beam field.

Thinking I'm noticing it more since the lights got brighter, as I vaguely feel like they were there before, just less visible.

Curious, since the front of the lens is nice and clear, if this indicates the back of the bulb having some damage or possibly reflective material breakdown?

All I can think, cause nothing else makes much sense, and I see no visible damage at all.

Still awaiting my wire harness, but an hours driving last night, they seemed to work without a problem!

When I was testing out HID and LED bulbs in stock headlights the increased output did emphasize a slight "shadow" due to the mounting arm fastening the glare shield to the headlight reflector.

I have it, but haven't, no.

Primarily due to it's having been put in storage for the winter. They're salting like mad now, and I'm using my other vehicle full time now.

I'll play with it in the Spring (I have no garage to work on it in), but I do wish I could resolve the blackish spots in the middle of the beam pattern. They contribute a lot to poor spots of visibility, actually. The brighter bulbs simply *illuminated* that issue... (ha!)
