Looking for some advice...

I am considering purchasing some Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac 265/75 R16 112/109Q tires for my stock (no lift, factory wheels) 96 limited.

Will these fit with no rub? I searched the forums but didnt see a definite yes answer.

Does anyone have experience with these they could share?

I had that size of tire on my 98...no rubbing issues. You should be ok man.....

I put that size Duratrac on my '96, and they rubbed a bit if you hit a bump mid turn, or had the wheels turned backing up every once in a while (front rubbed only). I put '99 springs in, gained only about 1/2" of lift, and the rubbing is completely gone. Technically they fit, the rubbing wasn't hurting anything, just annoying, and only heard it a few times a week kind of thing.

I would do it again, no regrets. IF you get any rubbing (you might be fine), you can find ways to get rid of it pretty easily.

I have these on my (then) stock height 97 and they did rub ever so slightly on the mud guard. It was annoying as hell, but not damaging anything.

That size did rub when I had them on my 96 limited when it was at the stock height. If you experience rubbing you can do some minor trimming and you will be fine.

If you don't mind elaborating, what would need to be trimmed? Just the mudguards? I am pretty stuck on these tires so if I have to do some minor trimming I am fine with that.

It's that close, some seem to rub very mildly, others are fine. I trimmed the corners of the front bumper, as they were close, but the real rubbing was the fender liner at the back of the tire on the inside, you could just see shiny plastic in a spot on each side there.

The alignment setup can make that difference.

Buy them. If you rub it will be minimal.

Disclaimer- if you run wheels with less backspacing and/or wheel spacers, you will have more rubbing. It still won't be bad.

That's an interesting point that I had not considered. I mounted these on 16x8, 0 offset wheels, which might have contributed to the minor rubbing I had, where others were fine.

Wider wheels ( like less backspacing) moves the outside edge out and when turning, the outside edge swings closer to the wheelwell.

It was the rear inside edge of the tires that rubbed against the fender liner, not the outside edge. :shrug:

How do you like your Duratracs? I've been running the Yokohama Geolandar MT+ in a 305/70R16 (33s) for years but it's a discontinued tire. The Duratracs are on my short list even though I already miss my directionals.
