I’m one of those that has never had problems with KOs or KO2s. So I’m curious, how old were your tires, tread life and what was the temperature when this first started sliding? I had Terra Grapplers that slid on me. They were 50% worn and the temp was in the low 60’s. Don’t know how old they were since they came with the 4Runner. My guess is that the rubber got harder and that was the primary culprit. Just my theory though.

I believe my wife's 4Runner had Nitto'a on them when we were bought it. I wasn't thrilled as I have had nothing but bad experience with them on every truck I have tried thr Terra grapplers on. But we bought it with 40K miles as we got just over 100K miles before I changed the tires. Slight life and 33".
I found some dude a few years ago listing a set of 33" BFG's desperate because he bought them on tire rack and then a few days later blew the transmission on his daily, and needed fast money to fix that. Bought all 4 off him for $700 brand new. They sat for a year in my garage before I installed them. Her younger brother worked st a discount tire at the time so I didn't pay anything to have them mount and balanced.
They have been on for around 15K ish and they still look kind of mew. Very impressed. Not loud. Have had a few times where the weights didn't stick to the wheel and it's been bumpy but nothing else.
I had a new set of 35" BFG's I got probably around the same time for my F350. 2 split badly within like 2K miles and I got 2 brand new ones from discount free and just had to buy 2 new certs. Original 2 had about 12K and these new ones had about 5K when my truck just got totalled. Still looked good and no problems.
I always recommend BFG's. Most people aren't offloading their vehicles I know so for a tore that will perform well on the road and a little off, the BFG's are the best all around value in my opinion.

Michelin owns BF Goodrich but the tires are still made under the BF Goodrich name in America, I believe in the Alabama plant.
That being said, were you leading up to say something else and your comment got cut off? Seemed kind of random.
I like them for the most part. Just not on wet roads.

Wearing was good with me but noise was getting harsh. I don't fully blame the tires though as I have 285/75s KO2s on my JKUR and they aren't as loud. The 4Runner just isn't as well insulated I think.
That all being said, I just placed an order for 265/70 BFG KO3s and will be getting them installed tomorrow morning at Discount Tire. The KO2s lasted me 4 years and 62k miles and I'm ready to restart. They still have 7+mm of tread left though and look great aside from hairline cracking throughout the treads. I'll move the best one to my spare.
Let us know what you think about the K03s. I'm waiting for the C Load in that size to come out next summer.

265/70/17 E KO3s are installed. Moved the best KO2 to my spare which looks super meaty underneath. I'll get a picture here soon.
So far so good! Much quieter than my outgoing tires. Time will tell how they hold up noise wise but, if like my KO2s, they should be good for 50k miles. Looks wise, they're identical to the uninformed eye. I don't think my wife even noticed them save for that new tire smell!
Although we never had any water issues with the KO2s, I'm glad to know these are supposed to be even better.

Just upgraded to Duratrac RT's. And wow, i think these just might be the perfect AT/RT tire for the 4Runner. And only 2lb heavier than my C load Duratracs.

I had one get punctured at around 50K miles. The dealer gave me 50% wear on the warranty.
I drive around 40K+miles/year.
Don't drive crazy but normally want to beat what Waze says if the drive time. Also drive a lot of gravel and other such hazards.
I landed on them since they're only one of few that offer an AT tire in 20"
I still be using Duelers if they offered a 20" AT.

On my second set now. First was great. No issues at all...now I wish mine lasted 103k...closer to 50k for me before they were spinning in the rain. But I highly recommend them for daily driving and light off-road.
I replaced the 20" wheels and tires on my 2019 Limited with 18" Black Rhino Rapid wheels and Goodyear DuraTrac RT 265/65-18 tires. It made the ride less jarring without sacrificing any perceivable handling. It also greatly improved the look of the vehicle. I did not get the LT rated tires since I don't do any serious off roading where I have to worry about rocks.
We just had almost a foot of snow in one day last week. My snow blower broke, so I did not touch my driveway. When I left, the roads had not been touched. When I came back, they had plowed my street, so I now had the hump of plowed snow at the end of my driveway to climb over to get into the 10" of snow still on my driveway.
I never once had any problems. These are fantastic tires.
