Looking to buy first t4r what to look for

Ok so I'm looking to buy a 4 runner for a daily. My friends brother is selling his its 2 gen I'm gonna say 94 maybe. The thing is it needs a water pump so I'm only paying 700. It has brand-new 31s. I'm pretty mechanicly inclined built my turboed eclipse. So my question is what is the usual trouble spots rust spots. Things to look for. What are there problem areas. It's 3.0 v6

The 3.0 V6 had a service campaign for the head gasket due to the aluminum heads and cast iron block and different expansion rates. Toyota covered the first replacement. But I've read that there are aftermarket HG's that better withstand that difference in expansion rates.

I do know that a common rust spot is the back bumber so dont be alarmed if this one starts rusting, it happens to many 4runners.
