Looking to mount my CB & Scanner....

Hey Guys,

My only real problem with the 4runner is the lack of space within storage and the dash compartments.

I've got a CB radio (Pro520xl) and an All band scanner (Uniden bearcat 15x) that I'm looking to install nicely into my interior.

Does anyone have creative mounts that theyve done themselves, or know of any resources?

Also, I am installing a double-din stereo where the current single din is, so those two storage spaces are now filled :O

Also- feel free to show your interior mods for inspiration :D.

Thanks!

EDIT: I just found this thread, so lets please keep this to just dash and radio equipment mounting talk.

My FT2900r is mounted to an aluminum plate I made that uses the factory mounting where the map light mounted.

If you need to park in a garage, you may want to mount the antenna on the rear bumper.

I mounted mine to the hump on the center console.

The antenna is mounted to my cargo rack. I use the 1/2 wave whip for when I'm doing my daily driving. For off road I use a 'Fire Stick'. Both use a heavy duty spring.

If you don't mount your antenna to a ground point - be sure and add one.
