Looking to purchase first 4Runner

I am looking to purchase my first 4Runner (this site has been invaluable). Just wanted to ask if this seems like a good deal. I am going to go look at it Monday or Tuesday. Also plan on taking it to my mechanic as well. They are selling it for someone else and say they have a lot of the service records. Anything i should ask or be looking for? I have already gone through the sticky on purchasing a 3rd gen. Thanks for any advice.

More or less, yes. Get in some bigger search engine and search for timing belt and water pump and you may find some more results.

I bought the exact same vehicle, with the same amount of miles, only mine was white. It had almost brand new tires and recent spark plug change. He was asking $6k, and I offered $5k cash, he thought for about 30 seconds, and said ok. So yes, offer $5 and he'll take it. Good luck.

Make sure all the exterior lenses say Toyota on them... also check every body panel for matching VIN numbers. Especially important in the front.

Also, register the VIN on Toyota Owners Official Website: Service Coupons, Owners Manuals, Service Scheduling and More and see if there are any factory service records. Check the top of the timing belt cover for a sticker saying it's been changed. Check valve covers for leaks...

The drivers side looks good... Pretty vague ad.

Good luck!

I wouldn't worry about that... Mine doesn't have VIN's on any of the body panels or windows, but I doubt every one has been broken or replaced. Get the service records for sure, and get a carfax, it isn't a guarantee, but it may tell you about some accidents.
