If it makes you feel any better I got my open diffed 96 with 180k miles for $5k. But it was 5 years ago.

I'll let him give you the exact distance apart but the seller is listed as Chandler and OP is from Tempe. Tempe and Chandler neighbor each other (south side of the greater phoenix area) so they shouldn't be more than 25 minutes apart give or take with traffic.

Damn, that's too bad. Although if the price was right, even if you had a put a new (used) tranny in it, it would be worth it for a lot of people especially because it looks super clean and has an E locker....

Plus it should be pretty rust free if it is from AZ. Someone will definitely buy this if the price is low enough.

I talked to the seller last night. He has owned the 4runner for eight or so years. It is from the pnw area. He said it hadidn't a rebuilt Trans (five years ago) bc it is slipping in some gears. He also rear ended someone a few years back which is why the grill is painted black. I want to check it out but work and new baby makes that hard. I'mainly thing to get a vin number but the seller is being somewhat difficult on this. Right us about 25 miles from me but I has to be worth my time to make time to see it.

I bought my 97 with 170k and a rebuilt transmission. I drove it until it had 208k with 0 problems. I would do it again.

Well shit! It's $50 cheaper in Florida too....

I'm tempted to troll them somehow. Maybe call them up and act stupid as hell. Tell them I'll send the money to their PayPal account but then drag my heels and frustrate them. Perhaps tell them I'll send the money soon but I'm waiting on my friend who is a prince in Nigeria who owes me some money... Then figure out some shitty things to do with whatever info I can gather about them.
