Loose Driver's Seat

Lately, I've been driving my car and I've noticed that whenever I accelerate or am pushed back in my seat, the right side of the vertical portion sags back, as if something is loose. The passenger's seat has no issue. It's annoying and I'm not sure but doesn't seem safe.

Any help on how to fix this?

My driver side seat lower is loose also. Apparently it was a fairly common issue.

I haven't figured out how to resolve it though.

:mad2:My '03 SR has the same issue. When I bought the vehicle, the dealership sent it out and had the seat repaired. The repair lasted about a month, then it was the same as before. So, I will be taking the seat out, and fixing the issue myself. I will post pictures and a description of the repair when I do it.

I might just look at adding Recaros like in my car. Cobra also makes some nice replacements.

Our trucks just have too much power

On a serious note, I believe our seats are secured by bolts. Have you checked to make sure all bolts are tight?

Are your talking about a 4thGen? If so, the earlier years had an issue with a weld breaking. There are a couple of threads covering this.

Theres a thread on here somewhere about how to fix this, its nothing you can really tighten its like a 'C' that has a rod through it that moves around a little on my truck. If you get under the seat and move it around you can see if you have the same thing as me...if I find the thread Ill post up the link.

I'll have to take a closer look. A broken weld is certainly believable. I mean I like the seat, i guess i'll live with it for a while or see if a shop near me can weld it if that's what's up. Too bad it isn't bolts!

Mine has a similar issues with the passenger seat. The seat makes a crazy amount of popping noises any time you hit a bump in the road or go around a corner. Drives me crazy.

Agreed. My drive seat is starting to develop it now, was originally just the passenger one.

Are you talking about the lumbar support when you refer to the vertical section?

I had an issue where I was off-roading an hit a hard bump and bound up the mechanism. I can see people getting popping or sagging issues if the mechanism is loose or broken.
