Loose Front End?

I was wondering if anyone has a 01 4Runner that feels a bit loose in the steering when a bump is hit? I have only had the truck for roughly 2 weeks and I have no idea if this is normal.
It almost seems like the left front shock or rod ends may be bad. Thank you all very much for the help.

No, it is not normal. Mine is doing the same at 98k miles. Have to change out the brake pads and disks soon ...real soon. I suspect it is either worn bushings or ball joints. I doubt that worn shocks would cause this. I'll be working on mine next week and let you know what I find.
