Loose rear shocks

I installed a 3" lift with bilstein tundra struts, bilstein 24-249966 rear shocks and eibach springs all around. I'm currently running into an issue with the rear shocks. I already have the top nut very tight but the shock is still loose.

It seems like there is not enough thread on these shocks to actually tighten them all the way but I've never heard of this issue before, especially since the 24-249966 are built for the 4runner. anyone have any ideas on how I can resolve this situation?

Do you have a bushing on the top too?

Installation error.

Bowl washer, bushing, mount on bracket, bushing, bowl washer, nut.

According to what I've seen since I started researching these Yota's is that they have a middle washer. I don't really think it's needed but if it's there then use it. My jeeps have the same bushing set up minus the middle washer.

If the upper and lower bushing are in place and the top nut is bottoming out on the threads of the spindle, it sounds like you bought the wrong rear shocks. You should absolutely be able to tighten that top nut down enough to compress the bushings and have the shock tight against the frame.

If you're certain the nut is bottomed out on the spindle threads and the shock is still loose on the upper mount, you could disconnect the shock, add flat washers under the bottom concave washer to take up more space and then reinstall it. You'll want to have enough washers to take up extra space and will still allow you to get the upper bushing, washer and nut onto the spindle on top. With the extra space removed, you should be able to tighten the top nut down compressing the bushings and now have a shock that doesn't move in the top mount.
