This is so true. Not from Washington but visit frequently. On the bright side its greener than most places in the U.S.

I talk a lot of sh*t, but I love it here. There's not an outdoor activity that I can think of that isn't accessible from the city and there honestly is no place I'd rather be in the summer. Downsides are definitely the grey and rain. Oh and it's getting crazy expensive too.

I recently made the opposite journey as the OP when I moved from LA to central TX.

When I was in the city I would just work on my car/motorcycle in my parking spot behind my building in the alley. Granted I didn't do anything major, but anything that can be done in a day you shouldn't have a problem with. If you can't get it done in a day, you'll have to figure out a way to secure them for a night otherwise risk getting your stuff stolen.

Like others have said, the big problem is when you need to take a bathroom break or step away for a moment. In these instances having someone there helping is essential.

I'm currently in an apt in TX and just changed out a u-joint in the parking lot - without a jack no less! I just backed the truck over a curb that created enough space to work.:rockon:

I lived there in King County for 10 years- this statement is pretty close to reality. You can count on July and August being reasonably dry, but there were a few 4th of July's that I remember having 60° heavy rain coming down where everyone stayed inside of hung out by a burn barrel to keep warm.

When you had those warm, dry days it was one of the most beautiful places that I've ever lived.

Yeah to be honest, as much as I love this car, at this point in my career it's kinda hard to justify daily driving a project car. It's still somewhat reliable - engine and transmission are solid, but the rest of the car is starting to show it's age by the wear and tear of the parts
