Lost key- 4runner

son lost his main key- has a spare and the valet key... any ideas how to get one made ? we are still looking - he thinks it is in the house somewhere....

You need that small rectangular piece with a number on it to have a key made. It then has to be programmed to work with the immobilizer.

I bought one off ebay and then had it cut and I programed it myself it was easy.

i bought the flip key and programmed it myself too. it was really easy. i lost my key too a few months ago. my wife likes the flip key though so I ended up with the spare key.

found his key finally- in the pocket of his shorts in the laundry basket!

so is it better to let him use the spare and keep the master at home? in case the main key is lost again...
