Lost keyless entry "beep" when locking

Its a long story, but I had to remove my door panel last night. It took me forever to get the door handle/lock cables back in place. The lock cable is really sensitive on its placement. I finally got it so that it would lock and unlock with the door button.

However, now when I exit the vehicle and lock the car with the remote, I no longer get the beep. It WILL lock all doors, but I cant double press it to turn off my headlights. When pressing "lock" it will lock the doors, and then you can hear it try again, like its not sure if it worked. Everything works as normal when unlocking the vehicle with the remote, and manually.

Is there anyway to reset this system? Are the cable tolerances just not quite right?

EDIT-After more searching I found another person had the same issue back in 2003. He said it was a tensioning problem on the lock cable (which I figured). I just have no way to know what the correct tension is. Ive spent hours playing with it and you cant test it without putting everything back together. Its definitely a pain.

In my case, the white threaded plastic piece is broken. No wonder I cant get the right tension.

Anyone know the different between these two cables? I need the one that actually connects to the door locking switch by the handle.

One of them is the one I need.

I think remote control is the one for the handle and locking is for the lock. You can always have a dealer parts dept look it up with a picture.
