Loud clunk each time the gas pedal is suddenly pressed from stop or low speed...

First of all, I just had my 2004 4Runner 4wd jacked up this past Sunday, changing the brake pads. I don't know if that did anything to the suspension or not....

But for the last couple of days, each time I suddenly accelerate from a stop or low speed, there is a loud one-time clunk like something in the suspension is loose?

Everything else seems to be normal driving once going or if I ease into the gas...

Any ideas on what this could be?

Thanks for the quick response! I did bed the brakes and replace the retaining spring. The brakes feel great. It really doesnt sound brake related I don't think.

how are the LCA bushings? if they are worn it can move back and forth

I'm not sure on the LCA bushings...not too familiar in that area, but will give it a look!

I can for sure lubricate/grease the driveshaft, and give that a try.

10 to 1 it's the driveshaft. a common problem with these trucks in 4wd. if you search for 4th gen driveshaft clunk you can read all about it.

short story is to lube the driveshaft at all 6 zerk points with mobil 1 grease. makes it go away for most people and it's not dangerous or damaging anything.

first thing i did when i bought mine and it went away entirely. i think there is a writeup on this site for it.
