Loud noise coming from front suspension.

Not the pads. I hit some bumps while purposely braking and it still made the noise.

That's exactly how I diagnosed my rattle as a brake issue, the noise went away when braking.

To solve my front brake pad rattle, not only did I replace the rusty, worn out M-springs on each front caliper, but I also added a second M-spring to the other slide pin on each front caliper. It definitely solved the problem, quiet ever since.

The sway bar end links are a common cause for a noise like this. Either tighten them or remove swaybar altogether to rule it out. Only reason I say remove it is because it could be the swaybar hitting the coils when fully extended. This is common if you don't have the sway bar relocate.

This noise was caused by the end link being slightly loose. Mainly heard it when going over speed bumps just as you describe.

The swaybar touches the coils!? Is this an issue on bone stock T4R's or a result of lifting them?

Lifted only. That sound is loose end links, not swaybar contact though.

found this just in time! I have a similar noise coming from the front right ever since my fj swap. I was going to just grease the bushings as I havent done that since the swap and they look like they need a good greasing. I'll definitely check the end-links as well. Maybe I'll remove the SB considering i'm going to rausch this weekend but I'm not sure I want to do that and sacrifice on-road handling for the trip there...I'll update after greasing and checking the end-link if it affects my noise at all.

after greasing my bushings all around the noise is gone! didnt even get more noises after running rausch this weekend. Happy I found this thread and greased the bushings before looking for other things!

OK. I just noticed that when I go over the curb at work (weird parking lot... Don't ask) and am turning when I do it, I hear this horrible clunk from the front end that sounds like a coil spring hopping over a stop or something... Can't quite describe it. Mine isn't lifted though. I'll have to get it in the air and check out those end links.
