Low Fuel Light

Should this light come on with the other warning lights when you first switch the car on? Mine does not and it seems that I can get very low on fuel (according to the gauge) without it lighting up. has worked in the past assume bulb may be out.

Anyone ever replaced this bulb? Advice? bulb #? Thanks.

what year do u have? i have a very nice easy write up on taking that apart and replacing the bulbs. (hang on ill get it) i am not sure if it should light up. ill check with my 2000 later.
