I did a search on this and did not find anything specific but did find issues related to fuel gauge problems etc.
To be specific I recently bought a 1998 TR4 Limited with about 43k on. Love it and happy I found it.
Just a couple of days ago I noticed the low fuel indicator light was on and looked at my fuel gauge thinking I was low on fuel. I had about 3/4 of a tank so I thought here it goes-problems with the fuel system. I say this because I recently replaced the entire in tank fuel/filter sending unit in a Dodge Van-not a fun job but it was reacting typically to a unit gone bad. Not showing the proper readings, and hesitation problems when the system would get hot.
Ok enough about my crappy Dodge!
The light will flicker on and off when the vehicle starts to level out. Meaning if I go over lets say some railroad tracks it will start to flicker, go on and off, basically be on when it shouldn't be on.
So is this an indication of a bad fuel sending unit, or a sign that my unit is failing?
I find it hard to believe that only after the 5k miles I have put on it since I have owned it the unit is going bad. I guess stranger things have happened.
