Low Power

I thought my 4runner was just in need of a tune up but when I went to change the filter I noticed the line coming in was twisted and pinched almost shut. I just bought it and from the beginning I could tell it needed a lot of pedal to go but it still ran good once it was going. Could this be causing that much of a loss of power or are all 2nd gens with the 3.0 underpowered. Also would it be possible to cut the metal line and splice a rubber line in the middle...Thanks for any help you can offer

The fuel filter...the line on the passenger side has a big kink in it and I didn't know if that was causing the lack of power. I already changed the air filter, plugs, wires, cap and rotor and it still feels like I have to give it alot of gas just to get up to 40. but once it's there it seems to run ok...

They seem underpowered compared to other v6 suv's.They are heavy and only a 150 hp.Mine had 4.88 gears and 31" tires. If yours doesn't have the 4.88 rear axle and larger tires that would caouse poor acceeleration.

you forsure want to unkink that line. but as 03vrod said the runner do kinka lack power mine take forever to get there but once its there its ok

I guess it's hard to tell since I've never drive a 4runner before. I was just wondering how the stock motor will do offroad...
