Lower control arm mount skids

Here is my take at a skid for the lower control arm. Brian2sun's 4runner is going to get some in a week as well

I made strips out of 1/4" and just welded the strips to the LCA mounts.

Here is a before Note the crack!

BOOGER WELDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FInal product. Spray paint covers up booger welds quite nicely.....

you need to look at them. Mine cracked after john bull....

Sweet, I've didn't see this thread yesterday. Looks good in those big pics (a lot better than on my little phone's screen). Those welds don't look too boogered - especially for stick welding!

well the side next to the gas tank is the ugly one. I was concerned about sparks and the tank so i rushed. I was kinda shaky too, well i was welding in a tee shirt and getting burned lol

A tee shirt, so you had full protection then! :biggrin2:

a t-shirt is more than we used alot of times on the ship i was on. even with coveralls on we still had slag burns on the weiner if we were welding over head.
stick welding is best for me. just cut the rod in 1/2 to have a bit more control over the bead.

I agree, stick welding takes time to learn, but is great to know. Iv had all the good burns. I really hate the ones that go into your ear.....
