Lower Shock Skids for Bilstein 5100?

So the next mods I'm researching are Lower Link Skids, Lower Control Arm Skids, Lower Shock Skids. I plan on keeping the stock skids for now. In researching, it seems that there isn't a lower shock skid for the Bilstein 5100's because they're too big? I've emailed ICON to see if theirs will fit, awaiting a response.

Personally I think LCA skids are just adding more unsprung weight unless you're planning on getting something like the icon ones where you're running dual shocks. Just look at the LCA you're not gonna bend it.

Yeah I may wait on those. Pretty hefty down there now that I have my 285's.

These are about the only ones that work for the 5100's Rocktek Shock Mount Armor RTC-SA
The Icon ones probably won't work, but those really aren't that thick to begin with and will bend if any rock were to smash up against it. I chose the Icon's though because the only thing I ever see is sand, and it does protect part of the shock shaft against sand blasting and other light stuff. As far as lower link armor, you could look at All-pro, Rocktek also makes some, along with Total Chaos.

I ordered The Total Chaos rear link skid. I guess I have to get the Rocktek shock skid. I see AllPro has a front mount skid. Is that piece necessary?

If you really want to protect that area, then get both the front and rear lower link skids. If it were me, I'd just replace the lower link with something stronger than stock first. But if you can do both the skids and link at the same time, that would be even better.
