Lower silver valence removal

I know i read this somewhere in here, but can you reach all the small clips behind the bumper without having to remove the bumper itself? A couple of the clips broke off so I’m just going to pull the valence off. It looks like there is a row of clips on top and on the bottom, and one on each side in the middle?

If you hit water like this you will loose your valance, no matter the color. Better to get a slim line, low pro or other steal option.

The bumpers are so simple to remove, you might as well just go that route unless you have some kind of mouse hands. It's really not too bad pulling the bumper off by yourself.

Like brtnstrns said. I did the front with the bumper on but I was looking at the Pro replacement piece so knew where the clips were. I struggled with at least 6 of them, while I could reach them, I couldn't reach and release tension at the same time with space for only one hand to pull out the T-clips easily, so it was a struggle. In hind sight, I would have removed the bumper for the front.

The rear piece was a different story - I knew there was no way to remove w/o having the bumper off, so I went straight to remove the bumper.

I did get some of the T-clips before the task, but ended up not breaking even one of the OEM clips.

I timed the front bumper removal the second time I did it. 15 minutes. First time was longer just to figure out how to do it. Had to take the bumper off a second time because I screwed up one of my Cali Raised fog light pods (wasn't flush). I actually bought the fog light pods because I knew I was going to have to take my bumper off anyway to fix the valance. Definitely a recommended upgrade and only cost me $110 if you are going to have to take your bumper off anyway. Super bright.

I personally would take the bumper off to fix the valance. I bought a new TRD Pro black one for $190 from a dealership online but I heard on Facebook you can get one cheaper from those who put a new steel bumper on. My silver one that came with the TRD OR blew off in deep water like others have. I considered getting a low pro bumper instead of buying a new valance but didn't. Maybe in a couple of years.

I thought about that also...why not just run your front without the valence?

I thought about it but didn't like all the holes. I wish the TRD OR wouldn't even come with those cheap plastic valances. In fact, since an SR5 is just as good as an OR, I should have got one one of those. LOL
