Lowering 4Runner

I dont know if it will work for a 4th gen t4r but for a 3rd gen, I have found that 1st gen tacoma front 2" lowering springs will work and for the rear, eaton detroit springs inc has 2" rear lowering springs (part# MC7015-2) for a 3rd gen t4r

if you wanta lower your truck i know how to do it, first you call budbuilt and lilskip and order their full armor, then you get some sliders and other small armor items like rear LCA skids ect. then you put it all on your stock rig, you will lose about and inch of ground clearance, it worked for me!

wow TE37's really do make anything there on look great. I've always wanted those rims for my car but that does look wicked in that first shot even if it is phs.

Does anyone make an air ride system for the 3rd gen? that could be a decent option for lowering it. I wouldn't even bother trying to make it handle well but slamming it for that look is pretty cool.

I personally don't like lowered 4Runner's, not my cup of tea. But hey if you want to go ahead, your truck! More power to ya, make it yours!

I bought my 98 4runner specifically as a 2wd as I have no intention of offroading. We bought it as a family vehicle. deciding factors for our t4r were seating scapacity, overall size, and cargo space (wanted something with room for my stereo equipment and still room for cargo). right now we have a 2yr old daughter and we are planning to have a 2nd baby. my thought proccess with lowering our 2wd is for the ease of getting kids in and out. If i had intentions of offraoding, I would go the opposite route, being a 4wd with a lift kit and removing the running boards and installing collapsable steps. As money allows, later down the road, I may pick up a 3rd gen 4wd as a "toy" LOL

I like the idea... Finding Springs is going to be the hard part..

Swaybars, Poly Bushings all around, firmer lowering springs. I like the look!
