LT tire help

I am looking for the lightest, least aggressive LT 265/70/17, 6 ply (load range C) All Terrain tire. I am currently running the Cooper AT3's, but they weigh 50 lbs apiece, and have fairly large lugs. (which I don't want or need) I rairly go off road, and if I do its just fire trails or farmers fields. I do pull a boat, hence the reason for a 6 ply LT. I am thinking that the Firestone Destination AT (44 lbs) might be my best choice. Can anyone recommend some other light All Terrain, LT265/70/17 tires ? Thanks

The Firestones are the tires I was going to suggest. I will be replacing my tires with those when the time comes. 275/70/17.

Doubt you're going to do better than Destination AT if you stick to your exact criteria.

Another option is to reconsider whether you need to go to an LT tire at all. If it's strictly for the load carrying capacity, take a look at <a href="http://www.toyota-4runner.org/general-discussions/110299-lt-tires-need-more-air-pressure.html" target="_blank">this</a> and you'll see you don't get any extra until you approach 50psi.

If it's for the more stable sidewall feel (which is more affected by air pressure), have you tried towing at 37-38psi in a standard load P-metric tire? Not sure if it would suit you but it might be worth a try to see if it does. There's also the option of an extra load (XL) tire which might be a good middle ground, but the choices are limited.

Bridgestone Revo 2 Load E is only 46lbs in 265/70/17, but the tread is probably too aggressive for you. The Bridgestone Revo 2's are anything but aggressive they're 100% straight up street tires. I have had them before and they're great tires for towing a trailer around town and don't travel further off pavement than a dirt road. The Michelin LTX is pretty good towing tire too in my experience.
