LTDSC Build Thread

I leave my trac bars on, I guess it gives more of a twist on the axle, slides right in without touching anything, the other side gives that angle on the spring. I have 3" lift in the rear.

I took it in to get my brakes inspected today. My mileage is absolutely garbage so i thought it could be a seized caliper. They found nothing, so i guess ill just accept the fact my 4runner gets crap mileage.

Pretty disappointing.

What's it getting?

:wow: Yikes! That is pretty bad. I thought I was getting crap mileage at 16 in the city.

i know its a v8 and they get worse but not THAT bad. I dont drive like a dick, i dont speed. I dont understand it. Having the calipers checked was my last attempt at fixing.

I average 12 around the island. Driving mostly 34-45 sometimes 55 when I'm on the highway or when I'm late for something. Best I ever had was 18 driving up to Charlotte NC before putting my lift on. Coming back with the lift and tires I got 16 and I also have the 03 V8 so it could be normal for us considering we only have 4 gears plus overdrive

thats good to hear, first time i've heard something matching what i have. You're also running a lot bigger tire, although these Cooper STT's i've read are a little heavy and also have a restrictive tread pattern.

With the SST tires you put on, you do take a big hit with milage.

I didn't relies how much by adding that little height and weight from stock. Put my stock size tires back on and milage went back up 2-2.5 mpg.

I bought a cheap eBay "CAI" because the others are far too expensive and with CA smog i was going to have to swap 90% of the intakes anyway. So i ended up with an eBay one. It's for a Tundra so i was worried about fitment, so far only the heatshield had issues which i messed with and now works great.

Very Dirty before pic (only pic i have)

I had to cut the heat shield to even get it to fit.

I havent noticed much of an MPG gain because ive been screwing with it. I can tell its a lot more responsive, butt dyno feels faster. I like the way it sounds, if it gets me a few extra MPG then ill be very happy.

Been two fill ups and wanted to share my positive results. Significant difference. All in town driving again like the 8/9mpg like shown below.

Not to mention i've also been romping because its new, itll hopefully even out and be even higher.

you're really making me want to buy one of these...

so far im very happy. Im more impressed with the temperature difference along with response than possible MPG increase. Im always monitoring my mpg so i can keep you updated after a few weeks as well. But so far its quite telling. Its been hotter than hell here too (108+) so ac been cranking.
